On 15/02/2024, Alexandros A. Papantoniou, represented our law firm at the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) Annual General Meeting held at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.

Keynote speeches were delivered by President N. Christodoulides, the Minister of Finance and the Vice-President of CYSEC. The speakers highlighted the collective effort by the government and the private sector to further expand the fund service industry to this day. Equally they have provided insights on key policy decisions and legal developments aimed directly at improving the scalability of the sector and strengthening the position of Cyprus as an emerging investment fund centers in Europe.

Although the industry has faced some geopolitical and economic challenges, the government provided assurances that the expansion of the industry remains a priority and several measures have already been taken to this effect to enhance setting up investment funds and establishing asset management companies in Cyprus.
